WHY I BUILT ODOOMAP

I wanted a better way
to get client data ready.

I’m Will Thompson, the person behind P2 Business Solutions and OdooMap. My background is in data management, process improvement and automation, which is a fairly predictable way to end up with strong opinions about spreadsheets.

After years of implementations and migrations, I kept running into the same problem. Before anyone could enjoy the new system, someone had to clean up the old data, work out where it belonged and explain why the import hadn’t gone quite as planned. More often than not, I was that someone.

A good implementation depends on getting that preparation right, but too much of the process lived in manual edits, elaborate spreadsheets and notes that made perfect sense when I wrote them. The next export would arrive, and I’d be back working through decisions I’d already made.

Good preparation should carry forward

I built OdooMap to make that preparation easier to repeat and easier to hand over. It keeps source files, mapping revisions and migration plans together, and uses automation and AI to help with the repetitive parts. You can see why a field was suggested, check the proposed changes and decide when the data is ready.

That’s the same approach I bring to implementation work at P2: understand the process, make the decisions clear and build something people can confidently use after go-live. The goal is to get you back to the satisfying part of the project: putting that shiny new system to work.
